Additional Benefits
We can’t always see the signs and know what to do to prevent an illness, but we can help protect ourselves in the event we are diagnosed with a critical illness. Critical illness insurance provides a lump-sum benefit and can help cover out-of-pocket expenses associated with treatment.
- Employee and spouse premiums are calculated with the employee age as of the effective date of the plan. Rates are adjusted once each year on the plan anniversary date that coincides with or follows the day an employee reaches the starting age of the next age band.
- Benefits are portable.
Child insurance is automatic. A separate premium is not required.

Health insurance doesn’t usually cover indirect costs that can arise with a serious or even a not-so-serious injury. You may end up paying out of your own pocket for unexpected expenses like transportation, over-the-counter medication, childcare, and extra help around the house. With accident insurance, the benefits you receive can help take care of these extra expenses.
